Chad Parks Named Class 5A Wrestling Coach of the Year!

Chad Park is named the 2018 Class 5A Coach of the Year! Chad Parks has been the wrestling coach for Shawnee Heights for thirteen years. Despite some injuries, the wrestling team did great this year. Ten wrestlers went to state ending up with three state placers and one state finalist. The team also won multiple tournaments throughout the year.

Kansas Wrestling officials look for sportsmanship, character, and overall success of the team when choosing for this award. Parks says "An award like this, I see it as a team award. It speaks volumes about our coaching staff in general, about what the wrestlers do on the mat, and what the parents/supporters do in the stands. I think we have built a great culture and this award represents that culture."
